“Holy Spirit” silver pendant, France, 18th century

“Holy Spirit” pendant in silver designed in 1781 in Alençon finely set with diamonds of Alençon, punch of the general farmers guaranteeing its authenticity and its high quality, a setting of the “second life” of the house Maingourd jeweler in Alençon at the end of the 19th century, listed in the departmental archives of the Orne as selling new, old and second-hand jewelry.

The pendant represents the “Holy Spirit” symbolized by a majestic dove with wings spread, a motif very popular in the eighteenth century for its spiritual and protective character.

With its rich history and remarkable craftsmanship, this pendant is a rare collector’s item, precious testimony to the French jewelry art of the time, embodies elegance and craftsmanship.
